3rd and 4th class worked in teams today to carry out an experiment. They followed the steps of the investigation and were given questions to think about as they carried out the process. The scientists discussed why they thought the fireworks took place in the jar when the oil and food colouring was added to the warm water. We realised that oil always floats on top of water and so the colouring joined the water molecules as it isn’t oil-based.
Some of our tests didn’t work out so well, and we thought of reasons why this happened.
