Screen National School is a Green School, an Active School, a Digital School of Distinction but most importantly a Child-Centred School. As Yeats said: “Education is not the filling of the pail, but the lighting of a candle”. In Screen National School we offer as many opportunities as we can so that we can see children grow in knowledge and reach their full potential.

Our ‘KINDNESS’ Buckets
In screen NS every class has been given a Kindness Bucket that they have two weeks to fill with as many of our ‘yellow’ kindness cards as possible. All teachers, SNAs and staff are on the lookout for random acts of kindness to the whole school community. With the help of the pupil’s who tell us about the wonderful, acts of kindness they witness each day, every bucket in Screen is overflowing and the positive attitude around our school is a joy!
Our first class to fill their kindness bucket were our Junior and Senior infants and they got to choose their prize. A cosy pyjama party ensued with Ms O’Brien and Caoibhe joining in the fun! Mr. Doyle’s class were the next ‘KIND’ class and they enjoyed a non-uniform day and an extra treat in their lunch box. 4th & 5th class the last winners of this wonderful award chose a treat of ‘HOT’ Chocolate and a movie!
