February

Junior Infants have been very busy with appointments this month. We have been visiting The Dentist for check-up’s, teeth cleaning and even braces. We also took our poor sick animals to The Vets and were learning all about having responsibilities. We have enjoyed creating some Spring art, following step-by-step instructions to make lovely egg-carton bees!

By the end of the month, we had earned all of the pom-poms in our jar and finished off with a movie, some popcorn and some cuddles from our favourite teddy bears!

September Updates

We have had a very busy first month in Junior Infants! Everyone in the class has settled in very well and has really enjoyed their time in school. The children have loved making puzzles, building, drawing and colouring when they come into school in the morning. They are always keen for teacher to take photos of their creations. They really enjoyed doing ‘School’ for Aistear, I can already see some future teachers! They have loved sorting and matching in Maths and doing lots of fine motor activities such as ‘Fuzzy Monsters’. One of the highlights of the month was when we had our first Special Time, everyone was delighted to bring their favourite toy to school. Another favourite this month was meeting their buddies and creating a picture of a school with them.

A very warm welcome to our new students in Junior Infants! They will be working with Mairéad, this year.

We are so lucky to have such a great group of children in our Infant room with Ms. White, this year. We can’t wait to see what they get up to!

February News:

We have been very busy in the Infants room this month. We have been doing the themes of Space and The Farm which all the kids have loved doing. They loved going to Space in their Space Station and writing about their journey and what they saw. They have also really enjoyed building sheds for their farm animals and learning about the different machinery used on the farm. In Maths we have learned about 3D Shapes and How to make a chart. In Irish we have mainly been learning about Caitheamh Aimsire, I’m sure child would love to teach you our ‘Is maith liom bheith ag…’ song! We look forward to showing you more of our work for the month of June.
